Results of the UDA and International Rescue Committee project

Our 12-month project, which was implemented in cooperation with the International Rescue Committee in Ukraine with the support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF) and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA Ukraine), has been successfully completed.

The project was aimed at raising awareness of the explosive ordnance risks and support for victims of mines and explosive objects in the Kharkiv region.

Thanks to the coordinated work of the UDA team and the active support of the community, we achieved important results:

  • 21,150 people successfully completed Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) training, exceeding the initial target of 20,900.
  • 256 victims of mines and explosive ordnance received financial assistance, which became a key element of their rehabilitation.
  • 354 sessions were held, during which the level of awareness of communities in the Kharkiv region regarding risks from mines and explosive objects was raised.
  • Two non-governmental organizations, Veritas Ukraine and the House of Youth and Children YMCA-Kharkiv, received mini-grants from the UDA and successfully implemented activities to support the communities of Kharkiv region. Despite challenges such as the escalation of the situation in the region and technical difficulties, our team has exceeded expectations by providing essential assistance to those affected.

We are thankfull to all partners and communities for their support and hope for further cooperation in new initiatives!
Let’s make Ukraine safe together!
