Comprehensive assistance to people injured by explosive ordnance
NGO «Ukrainian deminers association» (UDA) is providing comprehensive assistance to people affected by explosive ordnance.
Within the framework of this project, UDA will focus on helping victims who have suffered direct physical damage or injuries that threaten a person’s life or significantly limit their capabilities.
The definition of the concept of persons affected by explosive ordnance is contained in the Law of Ukraine “On Mine Action in Ukraine”.
This type of assistance was chosen in accordance with the main components of mine action in Ukraine, namely, in accordance with Articles 5 and 10 of the Law “On Mine Action in Ukraine” and in accordance with the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS).
During 2024, our organization provided assistance to 166 mine victimes. In total, during the entire period of our mine victim assistance (MVA) activities, we managed to help about 800 beneficiaries. This year, we will continue to provide MVA.
UDA is a full-fledged partner in the UN humanitarian response coordination system, in particular in the Protection cluster. In the window below, you can read the official report of the UN on the activities of the UDA in real time.
