On May 12, the Ukrainian Deminers Association welcomed representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands within the framework of the project “Safe Lands Ukraine: Locally Led Demining for Sustainable Recovery”.
It is especially important for us that UDA, as a local mine action operator, became the first organization within this cooperation framework to receive support and funding from the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the implementation of a humanitarian demining project in Ukraine.
This is not only a sign of trust in our team, but also an important international recognition of the capacity of Ukrainian operators to work in line with international standards.
The delegation included:
• Erik van Oudheusden — Mine Action Coordinator;
• Robert Dekken — Head of the Political Department;
• Daro Nakshbande — Second Secretary for Political Affairs.
During the visit, the partners visited two UDA operational locations.
At the site in Rudnia-Shpylivska, the delegation observed the work of our demining team operating in forest terrain, where complex operations are carried out daily to restore safety to Ukrainian land.
At the location in Kalynivka village, Makariv district, Kyiv region, the UDA team demonstrated the process of mechanical demining certification, which was successfully completed, confirming a high level of professional capacity and compliance with international standards.
For us, this visit is an important sign of international trust in Ukrainian local operators. Today, they not only work at the level of international organizations, but also demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and effectiveness in humanitarian demining operations.
We sincerely thank our partners for their support and high appreciation of UDA’s work.
Together, we continue working towards the safe and sustainable recovery of Ukraine.
