During 2022-2023, the NGOs Ukrainian Deminers Association (UDA) and the Norwegian international humanitarian organization Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) cooperated within two projects to strengthen the protection of the civilian population of Ukraine against explosive ordnance. The following results were achieved. The achieved results are presented in this article.

UDA’s CPP projects in cooperation with NPA

As for the distribution by gender, as in most cases, according to the results of the mentioned projects, the vast majority of beneficiaries are women. Namely, out of 13,620 people – 9,002 (66.1%) are women, and 4,618 (33.9%) are men.
Digital component
- App is a pocket manual of safe behavior in conflict caused situations, with text, illustrations and video instructions
- For teachers of all educational institution as well as entrepreneurs and those responsible for safety and security at enterprises, including people on the occupied territories
- Ready for using from January 2023
- Available on Google Play та Apple App Store
- App works offline after installing it on the phone and serves as a CPP manual
ToT for UDA trainers
During the implementation of these projects, in September 2022 and in April 2023, Training for Trainers (ToT) to prepare the certified UDA instructors was held.
The main goal of the trainings was to further conduct training sessions on conflict preparedness and protection (CPP) and mine and explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) in the most affected communities of Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv regions and Kyiv city.
The trainings were conducted by highly qualified instructors and UDA security experts, with the participation of a representative of the partner organization NPA. All instructors successfully passed the exam and received relevant certificates.
