Birthday of the Ukrainian Deminers Association

This week, the Ukrainian Deminers Association celebrates its 6th anniversary! Over the years, we have been confidently moving towards a safe future for Ukraine, focusing on key areas:

  1. Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE).
  • 8 EORE murals decorate buildings from Zhytomyr to Kharkiv, from Kyiv to Odessa.
  • Over 300,000 adults and children throughout Ukraine have received in-person training from UDA EORE instructors.
  • Over 43,500 people have already completed online safety courses on the UDA platform, of which 23,858 have successfully completed the training and received certificates.
  1. Mine Victim Assistance (MVA).
The UDA provided multi-purpose assistance to over 18,000 people affected by the war. In addition, 2,175 people affected by mine and blast injuries received necessary assistance.
  1. Non-technical survey of territories (NTS).
In 2023–2024, we conducted the first stage of humanitarian demining in Donetsk, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions. 453 reports were submitted to the MA Center, 123 Spot Task reports were completed, during which 182 explosive ordnance were detected. 10,875,339 m² of contaminated and 794,294 m² of potentially contaminated territories were surveyed. The UDA also received certificates for conducting technical surveys, manual demining and clearing of combat areas.

We have done a lot of work in these 6 years, but there is even more to come.
Let’s make Ukraine safe together!
